In 2023, more than one in ten (11.2%) young people (aged 15 to 29) were excluded from the labour market and education in Europe. Young people that are not employed, not in school, and not in vocational training (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) are defined as NEETs. They are at higher risk of becoming socially excluded – individuals with income below the poverty-line and due to a skills gap are unable to improve their economic situation.

The article, written by the YES Forum and the Together Trust, explores European and British policies to enhance social inclusion of young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs), as well as civil society organisations' initiatives to tackle this issue. It also introduce good practices examples, as the Back on Track project.
