On the 20th of June, the YES Forum introduced in Brussels the BRIDGE project at the event "Civil Society. Protecting and advancing socio-economic rights in Europe", organised by Volonteurope.
Participants got the chance to know the main findings of the survey carried out at the first stages of the project, that served as the basis of the future steps, as well as for several recommendations for individuals, organisations and policymakers to improve intergenerational dialogue at workplaces.
The BRIDGE project aimed at promoting mutual positive influence between senior and junior colleagues, identifying the strengths and potentials of young and experienced youth and social work professionals, and finally anchoring the learning outcomes structurally in the organization.
During the event, other initiatives and challenges were also presented, such as the Social Rights Tracker and the lack of social housing. The importance of cooperation between the EU and the Council of Europe was also discussed.
The event focused on how civil society is at the forefront of protecting and advancing socio-economic rights in Europe, and how we work together with social and institutional partners to ensure that the future of the EU is its people and that the European social model prevails.
