The EU Player project has officially begun! Partners from YES Forum, Finglas Youth Resource Centre, IEKEP, Nevo Parudimos, ÖJAB, and Zefiro gathered in Stuttgart for the kick-off meeting, marking the start of an exciting three-year collaboration. The meeting provided an opportunity to align goals, plan activities, and, of course, test some games!
The EU Player project aims to enhance young people’s knowledge of the European Union and foster a sense of belonging. Targeting youth aged 13 to 20, the initiative uses gamification to create engaging learning experiences. By participating, young people will transform from EU Players to EU Ambassadors, advocating for EU values within their communities.
Key Objectives
The project seeks to increase EU knowledge and civic engagement among young people while combating euroscepticism through interactive learning. By equipping educators with gamification tools, EU Player also supports the promotion of EU values in classrooms and youth centres.
Activities Ahead
To achieve these goals, the project will adapt an educational EU curriculum into a cooperative and dynamic board game, making learning enjoyable and effective. Educators across Europe will receive specialised training on gamification techniques and how to incorporate the EU Player game into their teaching. In collaboration with schools and youth centres, workshops will be organised, giving young people hands-on experience with the game.
A summer camp will gather the top 20 EU Players, providing them with further training to transition into EU Ambassadors who will champion EU values in their communities. A digital hackathon will bring together participants to explore online adaptations of the board game, ensuring broader accessibility and the project's longevity.
The EU Player project is set to inspire young minds, turning learning about the EU into an engaging and interactive experience.
