The YES Forum joined its founder member BAG EJSA’s 75th Anniversary celebrations participating in a regional gathering in Regensburg (Germany). As part of the anniversary program, BAG EJSA hosted the event to showcase the work done by EJSA in Regensburg and to connect young people from Bavaria with policymakers in Berlin.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to attend an insightful study visit to the carpentry workshop run by EJSA in Regensburg. The three Parliament members invited to the event, Dr. Carolin Wagner (SPD), Peter Aumer (CSU) und Stefan Schmidt (Die Grünen), had the chance to meet the young people training there and to hear about their stories, experiences, and aspirations.

This event provided a platform for young people to share their challenges, successes, and wishes while fostering a deeper understanding of the needs and ambitions of the younger generation. The interaction between the apprentices and the Bundestag members underscored the importance of youth voices in shaping policies that affect their futures.

BAG EJSA has organised more of this kind of events during the first half of the year, as part of its anniversary activities. Young people benefiting from youth social work services discussed their ideas on the anniversary motto 'The future is always!' with German Bundestag members, who also learnt about the various youth social work services available in the country.

Connecting young people and policymakers at the European level

In this context, the YES Forum had also the chance to present the “Social Cohesion in the Digital Transition” Policy Event (19-20 November 2024, Brussels) to the young people attending BAG EJSA’s anniversary celebration. The event represents a perfect opportunity for making their voices heard, not only nationally but also internationally, providing them with the means to communicate their needs and hopes for the future to policymakers in the European Union.
