My internship at YES Forum has been an incredibly enriching and transformative experience. During these six months, I immersed myself in the field of social work and expanded my knowledge on the European Union.
With my background in Law and Advocacy studies, I already had a basic understanding of the EU’s institutions and its legal framework. However, my time at YES Forum allowed me to deepen my knowledge, particularly in the practical application of European Law.
Working on European-level projects, I engaged in meaningful work that promoted political education and inclusion for young people, creating platforms for their voices to be heard by policymakers at both national and European levels. I participated in multiple activities that helped me develop a deeper understanding of the issues addressed by the YES Forum and the impact of the work carried out by the organisation.
Throughout my internship, I travelled and connected with youth social workers and young people from numerous European countries. I had the remarkable opportunity to represent YES Forum at international events and directly experience the work done by European institutions. Additionally, I had the chance to witness the impact of our work first-hand through field visits and interactions with members of our network and partner organizations.
On a personal level, this internship has been a period of significant growth. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I experienced living abroad and had the chance to work with inspiring and unbelievably kind people. Interacting with diverse groups of people from various cultural backgrounds enriched my perspective and taught me the value of social work and the effort behind it. This journey has not only shaped my professional aspirations but also contributed to my personal development, making me more self-assured and passionate about making a positive impact and working on the field of European Law.
In conclusion, my internship at YES Forum has been a remarkable journey of learning and growth. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a broad and impactful organization. The lessons I have learned and the connections I have made will undoubtedly shape my future endeavours, and I look forward to continuing my carrier and involvement in the European path.
